Leading Bristol developer Cubex is delighted to announce Practical Completion of its Halo office building, part of the award-winning Finzels Reach neighbourhood in Bristol. The cutting-edge, Grade A 116,000 sq.ft office building will cater for over 1,000 staff, with legal firm Osborne Clarke and accountancy firm Deloitte having already agreed significant pre-lets.
Halo forms a key part of Finzels Reach, the much-acclaimed mixed-use neighbourhood by Bristol Bridge and the Floating Harbour. It is located on the former Avon Fire & Rescue site and will be accompanied by 231 build-to-rent homes and 66 affordable homes. Cubex bought the site in 2018 and secured a £70m forward funding deal for Halo with Tesco Pension Investment in June 2020.
One of the UK’s most sustainable offices, Halo is the first office building outside of London to achieve BREEAM Outstanding certification against new sustainability assessment criteria. In addition to its stand-out environmental credentials, the future-focused building also features cutting-edge digital connectivity – recognised with the highest Wired Platinum score.
It has been designed to prioritise the well-being of its occupants and it is one of the first buildings in the UK to achieve a WELL Core Building certification. It also boasts 150 secure cycle spaces and quality shower facilities which is reflected in its ‘best in class’ Platinum Cycling Score rating. Using smart technology, the office space will offer its occupiers fully automated smart controls, energy efficient lifts, intelligent air quality management and rapid electric car charging facilities.
Halo’s modern design features a unique corkscrew-like staircase rising up through a glass atrium, with highly efficient LED lighting, roof-top mounted photovoltaic panels – and even a drone landing pad.
